Daily Devotion

August 30, 2006
Psalms 91:5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
When we walk with God, we walk by night as if it were by day; woes do not embitter the sweetness of His way. When we walk with God, sickness may bring our weakened body down, but only serves as a platform to raise our spirits up. Why is it so? Is it due to some magic spell brewed in a dark corner of the forest? Does this immunity come from some elixir made with exotic Eastern herbs?
Leave now your search for uncertain holy grails and let’s go together through the pages of the Holy book. Watch the miracles of the Shekina standing between the children of Israel and their Egyptian slave-masters (Exodus 14;19-20). See how the Spirit of the Most High strengthened men of low degree to supernatural strengths and faith.
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, the word walking on the earth has promised power is at our disposal for the asking (John 14:14).  So when we feel like the world succeeds in overcoming us with its futile race, let’s claim ‘sanctuary’ and take refuge within our hearts where the Son of God lives. There, His strength becomes ours (Philippians 4:13), His light shines our way (2 Samuel 22:29), and His spirit is the health of our bones (Proverbs 16:24).
