SATAN; HIS OWN ENEMY

December 15

SATAN; HIS OWN ENNEMY

Psalms 37:14-15 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

Satan did not want Jesus to die on the cross. From the early beginnings of Jesus ministry, Satan tried to discourage Jesus from accepting this cruel death. In the desert, Satan even offered Jesus the kingship of mankind if He’d only worship him. If Jesus would have just done that, He would have obtained the ruling crown, without the agonizing cross.  In Gethsemane, Satan again tried to discourage Jesus from going through with it all, he knew that would defeat him forever. In provoking Jesus’ crucifixion, Satan not only was executing his own death sentence and the defeat of his own kingdom, but he also was the instrument of God’s purpose.

So are the enemies of the righteous. The righteous may not see his God in the heavens keeping the enemy at bay and under His control. The righteous does not see Satan trembling at God’s rebuke. How ridiculous it is for the enemy of those who trust in God to even think that they could ever succeed in thwarting God’s plan; against the Creator. How amusing.

Friend, let us not fear the foe, the fiend that vexes our life. God laughed in the Heavens while He watched Haman on the gallows he had prepared for God’s servant Mordecai (Ester 7:9), and while Judas received in himself the death he bought in betraying his Lord. (Matthew 27:4-5). Yea surely, the day of the enemy’s demise is coming!

Psalms 40:13-15 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
