GOD'S PERSPECTIVE

GOD’S PERSPECTIVE

Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

How difficult for us, when in the midst of affliction or penury, to not be tempted to process our troubles by making negative comparison. We say, how is it that the complacent and indifferent ride through their lives in carriages pulled by strong and healthy beasts, while the faithful Child of the Kingdom trudges along in deep mud? How is it that the wicked and cruel eat their food without counting in a mocking manner at a large table, while the diligent servant seems to be relying on bare necessities?

Does not this reasoning negatively judge our Lord who does all things well and who sees all the doings of the children of man on the earth? Will we not be ashamed of this thinking when we appear before Him in the chosen and appointed day? When we think that way, do we not weight our future rewards for virtue you gained as a faithful servant in the midst of difficulty, with the delicacy of the present ease? The bread of the indulgent was stolen from the mouth of the Children of the King. His theft will not go unpunished; it will work as an instrument of judgment against his own soul as it chokes him.

In the day when the thrones are cast down and judgment is rendered, those who have carelessly eaten the flesh of the poor and of the righteous will meet the righteous Lord, King, Protector and Father of the poor. They will reap the reward of their wicked actions, while you and me, will go on to enjoy the abundant beauty, joy and plenteousness that he has prepared for us from the foundation of the earth.

2Timothy 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:
