Daily Devotion

Psalms 91:14b  . . . I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

Each and every day, we encounter problematic situations. We take these situations to the Lord in desperate prayer, and He sees us through them. This in turn develops into a deeper trust from us towards Him and His ability to be there for us. Consequently, we feel more secure in nestling closer to Him and relying on Him.

As humans, we are of a testing nature. No matter how much we try not to, we only come to fully trust and belief as the result of positive experience. No matter how much we want in our hearts to trust and believe God by faith, our confidence in Him only grows when we experience Him coming through for us.  That is why David encouraged His faith by counting His blessings (Psalms 103:2).

As we learn to live closer to the Master, as our relationship with Him grows more intimate, we get to know Him better. As we get to know Him better, as we learn rely more and more on the power of His name to help us in our daily toil and labor, our spirit is lifted up to the level of new spiritual heights. Let us today see whatever difficult situation in our way as a formidable opportunity to climb to a higher level of trust in Him.

Romans 5:3-4 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope:
