THE TESTIMONY OF GOD

Psalms 119:118 Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.

History is one of the greatest proofs of the existence of its great Planner: God. We do not need a degree in higher theology to see it. All we need to do is to look at the many fulfilled prophecies concerning the fate of certain cities.

For example, through the prophet Ezekiel, the Lord said that the city of Tyre in Lebanon would be completely destroyed; that it would become as bare as the top of a rock; that her stones & debris would be cast into the sea, and that she would become a place for the spreading of the fishermen’s nets (Ezechiel chapters 26 and 30). That's exactly what happened to that city. In the seventh century BC, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, came along to conquer the rich city of Tyre, but the inhabitants having been warned, fled to a little island a half a mile offshore with all their treasures & riches. Nebuchadnezzar didn’t have a navy so he couldn’t get at them. He was so angry that he destroyed the entire old city of Tyre, the great city of the Phoenicians, and left it there in ruins. Two hundred fifty years later, along came Alexander the Great with the goal of conquering that rich city. He had a navy and he wasn't going to pass up all those riches. He and his army scraped the debris of the ruins of the old city in the water and built a half a mile causeway all the way to the island where stood the new city of Tyre and captured it. Today, fishermen spread their nets on this causeway, just as the prophecy predicted.

The prophecies about the cites that God allowed to be destroyed for their sins stand forever as a testimony and warning to us and our nation of His eternal never failing Word and justice.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
