OH, FOR PURE HAPPINESS FROM GOD

Psalms 4:7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

God’s blessing of happiness is not measured in dollars and cents. Riches do make themselves wings (Proverbs 23:5). The truly happy individual is one who has learned to love, cherish and value the blessings that come of the heart; the spiritual blessings that no robber can steal and no rust can corrupt. In that sole ability lies the virtue of pure unadulterated happiness, of a joy that can never be altered by silver or gold.

Oh, to know the joy of the Lord. To know the joy that makes the rejoicings of the world a mournful dirge; the feasting that transforms their wealth into a famine; the brightness that makes their freedom an illusion. Only the pure and regenerated in heart can ever see and experience these blessings from the Lord (Matthew 5:8).

Jesus; please clean our hearts from the world’s delusions. Help us not to settle for the cyber-virtual happiness of the world. Help us know the experience of your love that is true; the pure and undefiled gladness of your spirit in your heart.
